I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God. —Luke 12:8.

What a simple way to inherit a blessing: we confess Jesus before people, and Jesus acknowledges us before the angels of God! We must not fall into the trap that caused Peter to stumble during the night of Jesus’ arrest — being strong when in the presence of friends and weak in the presence of those who are hostile. Let’s be ready to share our faith with friends with “gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15). Let’s be willing to be openly identified as one who knows Jesus and shows it by our words and deeds (Acts 4:13). Let’s confess that Jesus is our Lord by our lives and our lips for all the world to see.
