Day 9

Spiritual rest in the Lord refers to a spiritual rest from confusion, worry, stress, useless human effort, and a break from all internal, external, mortal, and spiritual enemies..
Spiritual rest is easy to overlook until we face the burnout of mental, emotional, or physical exhaustion. Worry, anxiety, anger, frustration, bitterness, unforgiveness, and stress burden our souls..
Different from self-care, spiritual care restores our soul, empowering us to experience peace and perseverance when we face challenges..
Self-care is necessary and important, but it doesn’t always meet the need of spiritual care..
Spiritual care brings mental, emotional, and spiritual rest, which is different from physical rest..
Jesus who understood both the need for physical and spiritual rest invites us to experience spiritual rest..
“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to Me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with Mine. Learn My ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in Me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”.. (Matthew 11:28-30)
Spiritual rest is the rest of faith, the ability to remain connected to Christ as we live and work with Him..
Three Actions of Spiritual Rest.
– Come to Jesus.
– Take His yoke.
– Learn from Jesus.
Many of the things that burden our soul involve worrying about the people we care about..
Bearing the weight of how it turns out for someone else creates a lot of stress..
We need to trust the Lord with our loved ones because God is faithful and working in their life. How much of our weariness comes down to the fact that we’re not trusting God?..
Staying yoked with Christ enables us to make choices trusting His experience, His provision and His leadership..
Every choice to believe, abide, surrender, and trust creates moments of spiritual rest from the burdens of strife, worry, comparison, frustration, and so many other mental and emotional challenges..
We find spiritual rest when we remember His presence and rely on His resources & promises..
“Now the promise of entering into God’s rest is still for us today. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it…….” (Hebrews 4:1)
