Day 8

Christian hope is GOD oriented – It is a hope that places God first by relying not on our own strength, but on the grace of the Holy Spirit..
God is the God of hope. No matter what the circumstances, there is always hope in God and in His ways and His promises. For the Christian, hope is not some wistful dreaming, it is faith and assurance that the God who is, who He says He is, will always be faithful and true to His nature..
Hope is a Gift. The Holy Spirit of God gives us the power to hope and that is a demonstration of God’s love for us. Hope given by Him works together to give us confidence, joy, peace, power and love..
The word “hope” in ordinary English vocabulary is expecting something to happen but far from certainty. We would say, “I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I hope it happens.”..
Whereas, christian hope is when God has promised that something is going to happen and you put your trust in that promise. Christian hope is a confidence that something will come to pass because God has promised it will come to pass..
Hope comes from reading His precious and very great promises and looking to Christ who purchased them. Christ died for me, rose again for me, and therefore all the promises of God are a yes in Him..
Hope tells us to look away from the circumstances that confront us and to look to Christ, look to the promises, and hold fast to them. Hope comes from the promises of God rooted in the work of Christ..
“But if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly for it……..” (Romans 8:25)
