Day 8

We often think of life as a series of events that happen to us..
As a result, we neglect the fact that it is a series of decisions and actions that are taken by us which originate from our thoughts..
If our thoughts are lovely, delightful or true, it will bring up happy emotions and actions..
When the thoughts are anxious, depressive or negative, we don’t feel good and our actions follow suit..
Take inaccurate and wrong thoughts captive immediately; nip them in the bud..
The only book that can truly change your thoughts and your life is the Word of God..
Bringing your weaknesses to God, who gives grace abundantly (grace is multiplied through the knowledge of God; 2 Peter 1:2), is far more effective. We aren’t perfect, nor is our thought life perfect – but the grace of Christ is sufficient. Stop beating yourself up and give it to Him..
What we think isn’t always accurate – that’s when we line it up against God’s Word. The better you know the Word of God the easier this process becomes..
We are not intended to carry burdens. It’s His grace that comes alongside us to take the load from us..
When you begin the journey to change your thinking – do it in God’s strength, letting His grace wash over you when you fall short..
Use the weapons you’ve been given – the Word and prayer. Expect thoughts to pop in your mind that need to be taken captive but be encouraged because now you have a plan..
Believe that God is willing and wants to help you..
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things..…..”(Philippians 4:8‬)
