Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus on the “Mount of Transfiguration” before Jesus’ closest disciples. This was an incredible honor for them as faithful Jews to see the glory of God and Moses, the great leader of Israel, and Elijah, the great prophet of God. However, God wanted Jesus’ followers to know that as important as Moses and Elijah were, only Jesus is God’s Son, Immanuel, God with us, God wants us, the modern-day disciples of Jesus, to know that the Son’s words are our ultimate truth and are spoken with God’s authority. We must begin by listening to and obeying God’s Son and our Lord, Jesus Christ, if we want to be refreshed, renewed, restored, and transformed! “A bright cloud enveloped them [Peter, James, John, and Jesus,] and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” Matthew 17:5.
