Day 5

Leadership is an attitude of service that results in influence..!
The heart of leadership is serving others first, before yourself..
Leadership is the act of influencing/serving others out of Christ’s interests in their lives so they accomplish God’s purposes for and through them..
Great leaders don’t all lead the same way or have the same experience..
Neither do you need a title to lead, you can do it now, right where you are & serve with a purpose..
In fact we are all called to be leaders, leading others by our example, our life style, wherever and whatever situation we are placed in life..
Jesus is the greatest example of a leader that we can imitate, follow and look up to for guidance..
Characteristics of a Christian Leader:
1. Love
A Christian leader must be driven in his or her life by the love of God in anything that he or she does..
2. Humility
Being arrogant does not help model or demonstrate Christ’s interests..
3. Self-development
Jesus constantly slipped away to spend time with God. Christian leaders must follow Jesus’ example of seeking God for insight into His will and for strength. Becoming more righteous is a lifelong process for all Christians, and leaders need to make time to grow spiritually..
4. Motivation
Instead of misleading or exploiting people, good leaders motivate others o a higher purpose..
5. Correction
Correcting others in the right way is important for all Christians.
-By understanding their temperaments
-By respecting their concerns
-By believing in their gifts
-By supporting their dreams
-By challenging their flaws to come out of them
6. Integrity
Good leaders practice and value integrity. People don’t follow leaders who lack integrity. Integrity involves practicing what we preach, being consistent and dependable, doing what we say we will do and living in such a way that others will trust us..
7. Follower of God’s Will
A good leader seeks the Lord, commits his way to the Lord and the Lord establishes the next steps..
“Furthermore, you shall select from all the people competent men who [reverently] fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; you shall place these over the people as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.….”(Exodus 18:21‬)
