Day 3

Growth requires change..!
God built into us the ability to change..
Part of being created in God’s image is that human beings can think, reason, & come to conclusions distinct from physical or material realities – our values & actions change to line up with God’s Word..
Change is a lifelong, daily effort that will end with an eternal harvest of holiness..
What stops us changing is our pride. Our pride makes us minimize or excuse or hide our sin. Or we think we can change on our own..
We cannot change ourselves through our own effort. Instead, we are changed by God through faith..
We cannot change ourselves through rules and disciplines because behaviour comes from the heart. Instead God changes us through the work of Christ for us and the work of the Spirit in us..
God cleans us up by taking our sins away from our life and making us a new creature in Christ. Every day He works on us to make us what we need to be for Him in this life. We have many flaws in our life, but God daily helps us to change these flaws and to become the person that He desires us to be when we submit to Him..
God can change anything and turn any situation around. Jesus still can. He can do what is needed; He can do what is necessary. When we put our faith In Him, He can turn it around..
God shapes us in His own image. In the middle of our struggles, He transforms our hearts by His grace, so that we are able to think, desire, act, and speak in ways consistent with who He is and what He is doing on earth. Our desire for change begins to line up with God’s purposes for change..
Those united to Jesus Christ do not need to look anywhere but to Christ Himself for real growth. We change by going deeper into the same truths that saved us in the first place..
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.…..”(2 Peter 3:18)
