Day 29

Transformation doesn’t just happen spontaneously..
We may not have control over the thoughts that spontaneously enter our minds, but we certainly have control over the thoughts we allow to stay – the mind is where transformation takes place..
Our thoughts powerfully impact our emotions and actions. The cycle goes like this..
We have a thought (that we treat like a fact), which brings up feelings in us and we respond to those feelings by doing something..
If the original thought is lovely, delightful or true, it will bring up happy emotions and actions. When the thought is anxious, depressive or negative etc, -we don’t feel good and our actions follow suit..
Our biggest downfall is attempting to control our thoughts in our own strength. Consequently we wear out, fall short and give up..
Therefore, we have to seek transformation from God and create a space every day for God to transform us into HIS likeness..!
Bringing our weaknesses to God, who gives grace abundantly, is far more effective. We aren’t perfect, nor is our thought life perfect – but the grace of Christ is sufficient. Stop beating yourself up and give it to Him..
God’s Word helps us to recognize our thoughts for what they really are, and how to act (or not act) upon them..
“ I give all my thanks to God, for His mighty power has finally provided a way out through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One! So if left to myself, the flesh is aligned with the law of sin, but now my renewed mind is fixed on and submitted to God’s righteous principles.….”(Romans 7:25)
