Women have always played an essential role in the work of God. This was especially true in the first century in Macedonia and Achaia (Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, and Corinth). In each of these places, the Gospel touched many of the leading women of the community. We know they played essential roles in supporting the missionary enterprise and sharing the Gospel with those around them. So please take time today to let a godly woman in your congregation know how important she is to the Lord‘s work and to you. “Some of the Jews were persuaded [by the preaching of the Gospel] and joined Paul and Silas, as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and quite a few prominent women.” Acts 17:4.
