Greed, lust, jealousy, & hatred were never amongst needs – but it dominates mankind now in these fallen times..
To differentiate a need from a want, ask yourself if you have been able to manage without a certain thing – Then you know it was never a need but a want. Decide that what you need is greater than what you want..
