Day 21

People delight to praise what they enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment..
It is not out of compliment that lovers keep on telling one another how beautiful they are; the delight is incomplete till it is expressed..
In commanding us to glorify Him, God is inviting us to enjoy Him..! Fully to enjoy is to glorify..
God is most glorified in us when we are most pleased, satisfied, fascinated, and enthralled with the splendor of His beauty that can be seen in the face of Jesus Christ..
God is not worshiped where He is not treasured and enjoyed. Praise is not an alternative to joy, but the expression of joy..
Not to enjoy God is to dishonor Him. To say to Him that something else satisfies you more is the opposite of worship..
We worship God by enjoying Him. God wants our worship to be motivated by love, thanksgiving, and delight, not duty..
Yet worship is far more than just praising, singing, and praying to God. Worship is a lifestyle of enjoying God, loving Him & giving ourselves to be used for His purposes – when you use your life for God’s glory, everything you do is a victory..
Delighting in the Lord also entails the engagement of our wills and the choices we make..
We must do two things. First, we must choose to obey His commands; second, we must choose to avoid all that He has prohibited..
Obedience nourishes delight and joy. God’s commands are His prescription for happiness and spiritual & physical health.. We must therefore trust God when He says that sin will corrupt and destroy and that obedience will bless and enrich..
“But let all my true friends shout for joy, all those who know and love what I do for You. Let them all say, “The Lord is great, and He delights in the prosperity of His servant.” Then I won’t be able to hold it in— everyone will hear my joyous praises all day long! Your righteousness will be the theme of my glory-song of praise!…..” (Psalm 35:27-28)
