As children of the light, it is our duty to keep seeking after God & His righteousness so that we can be a testimony to the world around us..
The phrase “children of light” describes a people in whom the light of the gospel shines brightly. It describes a people who seek the light and are drawn to that which is virtuous, clean, and pure..
We reject the power of satan and choose daily to follow the Light of Christ..
– Children of light, test and discern God’s will by using God’s Word.
God’s Word either tells us what to do, or gives us principles to apply to discern God’s will.
– Children of light, test and discern God’s will by putting God first in their lives.
“In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)
– Children of light, test and discern God’s will by not conforming to the pattern of the world.
Conforming to the world in thought or action, will inhibit our ability to hear and discern God’s guidance.
– Children of light, test and discern God’s will by considering both their heart desires and whether they have peace in their hearts.
God leads us through peace or lack of it to guide us in a situation. When there is no peace we can be sure God is not in it.
– Children of light, test and discern God’s will by considering open and closed doors.
God is sovereign over all things. Many times, He makes His will clear by closing or opening doors.
– Children of light, live in the light and do not partake in darkness, but expose it instead.
Have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. (Ephesians 5:11-12)
