It is not always easy to stop the overthinking, the second-guessing, and to silence the voice that tries to talk you out of God’s promises, BUT, when you stop trying to figure it all out, GOD goes to work on your behalf – that is because your trust and faith in God’s goodness and His Word is fuel for breakthrough..!
You cannot fight that nagging negative thought with another thought BUT you can fight that thought with the Word of God;
For the word of God is living and active and full of power, making it operative, energizing, and effective. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit, the completeness of a person, and of both joints and marrow; the deepest parts of our nature, exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart..
“So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result), Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”…….”(Isaiah 55:11)

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
