Day 12

Your scars can be a reminder of the pain, or they can be a reminder of the grace of God..
Are you at peace with your scars? Are you trying to hide them, embarrassed, living guilty, mad at who hurt you, bitter over what you’ve been through?..
Yet, those scars we have whether physical and emotional, can become signs of victory, of growth, of wonder, of beauty and of grace..
Have a new perspective..
Those scars are not there to depress you; they are there to encourage you..
They are reminders of what God has brought you through therefore be at peace with your scars..
If it had not been for the goodness of God, you wouldn’t be where you are. You could still be wounded; you could still be hurt..
Yes, it was painful. It may not have been fair, but look at you now. You’re recovered, you’re healthy, you’re moving forward..
We may not be proud of our past, but we wear our scars on our sleeve because we are proud of who we’ve become in Christ. These scars remind us that we can conquer all things, and that healing is possible through God..
My failures and mistakes are NOT my most treasured moments, but because of them I am now a living testimony of His redemption and grace and battles won..
God wants us to view our scars, remember the events that caused them, and then bask in the victory and healing that He allowed..
Our scars are reminders of God’s grace, for it is only by His grace that we could press on in the fight..
They also encourage us to trust in what God will do for us. After all, He never changes and neither does His mercy, love or grace. If He has seen us through in the past (and we can all say He has), then He will continue to do so..
“So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.….” (Hebrews 4:16‬)
