God doesn’t care about your image ; He is not interested in your status..
He is interested in your character – not how you look but who you are; a person of FAITH..!
Godly character is more about the choices we make than it is about the natural traits with which we are born..
Godly character is who we are because of our relationship with Christ. It is something that can be built and learned as we follow Him..
It is a description of who we are as Christians..
Build it only on one sure factor – the LORD’s truth..!!
God is more concerned about our character than our comfort..
There will be times where God will shake us out of our comfort zones in order for us to grow in godly character..
That’s because the times will come in our lives when we will face life trials, difficulties and through these we will have to make choices and God wants us to face it with the truth of His promises and with His Holy Spirit..
Athletes, musicians, artists, chess grandmasters to name a few, will all tell you if you want to reach the elite level it requires a great deal of training and working out to achieve your goal..
If we want to achieve the elite level of godly character it will require us to train and work out in order to accomplish our goal..
This will include times of discomfort, challenge, discouragement and struggle yet each time we work out our salvation we grow stronger in Christ, we develop endurance to withstand the negativity the devil will throw our way and we develop courage and boldness to stand on the Word of God regardless of what others might think or say..
So are you seeking comfort or godly character?..
“So don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others.”…”(2 Peter 1:5-7)
