Day 18

Many of us are no stranger to delays, detours (indirect routes), and distractions..
However, be reminded that God is always at work even amidst these interruptions – He is powerful, faithful, and He treasures you and will never let you down..
God uses His delays to teach us to trust Him more fully and to submit more thoroughly to His lordship over our lives..
When God delays, we must trust Him by submitting our agendas to Him..
When God delays, we must trust Him to accomplish His will through us by His power..
When God delays, we must trust in Him, not in our circumstances..
God uses His delays to teach us to submit more thoroughly to His lordship over our lives..
We submit to God’s lordship by acknowledging that He is God and we are not..
We submit to God’s lordship by not grumbling while we wait..
We submit to God’s lordship by taking advantage of present opportunities while we wait on Him..
In a world that encourages us to believe in ourselves and to achieve all we deserve, it’s paramount to understand who and whose we are..
“So, dear friends, don’t let this one thing escape your notice: a single day counts like a thousand years to the Lord Yahweh, and a thousand years counts as one day. This means that, contrary to man’s perspective, the Lord is not late with His promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, His “delay” simply reveals His loving patience toward you, because He does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.….”(2 Peter 3:8-9‬)
