Day 12

Solid relationships are characterized by love – in fact, love is supposed to be the most defining characteristic of us who are believers of Jesus Christ..
When we operate out of love, we are able to work through struggles and difficulties; we can forgive and extend mercy toward one another..
When we hear the word love, we tend to think about the romantic kind. But love, especially love for others, the godly kind of love, comes in all forms and varying degrees. It shows in how we care for our children, respect our parents, and look out for our neighbors and strangers..
Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut (show off), doesn’t have a swelled head (proud), doesn’t force itself on others, isn’t always “me first,” doesn’t fly off the handle (losing control of one’s emotions : become very angry), doesn’t keep score of the sins of others..
In fact love is the rod that holds up all the other virtues together..
Let your love be sincere, a real thing; hate what is evil, loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness, but hold fast to that which is good..
“For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is fulfilled in one precept, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF [that is, you shall have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit].….”(Galatians 5:14‬)
