Day 5

While Job never discovered why he suffered, he did learn his place in the universe before the Almighty. Each of us needs this mature perspective! When we are young, time seems to pass very slowly especially if we are excitedly waiting for something special! But as we grow older, the years seem to fly by quickly. Regardless of our learning and experiences, humility about our place in the passage of time should lead us to great awakenings: These awakenings should prepare us to turn our lives and futures over to God, who longs to bring us to himself and share the greatest part of eternity with us. We may be a shadow, but God also claims us as his children! “We were born only yesterday and know nothing, and our days on earth are but a shadow” Job 8:9.
