Day 12

Jesus saw the crowds and when He did, He was filled with compassion. He healed, taught, loved and cast out demons. Now it is our turn. “Ask”, He said, “the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” He has asked us to go in His name and minister to others. We do this by doing what He did. It says, “When He saw the crowds, He had compassion.” Our commission is to see people with the eyes of Jesus “Seeing the other person through the eyes of Christ – this is my prayer as I seek to relate to people I encounter in daily life. For when we see them through the eyes of Christ, we see their worth and dignity. I also see what they can be, not simply based on their apprearance externally. And if I am really willing to see them as God sees them, I see Jesus in them; I see them in likeness and image of God, Jesus in them. When we see what Jesus saw, we too will be moved with compassion. Today, ask Christ to show you what we need to see in others. “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Mathew 9:36-37”
