God promised to be our refuge and strength. Our challenge is to trust that we are not alone or abandoned when emotional earthquakes, disasters, and tidal waves overwhelm our lives. God is not only our protector and helper. He is with us even when our world seems to be crashing around us. He will rescue us from death or deliver us through death to himself. He will deliver us from evil or empower us to overcome evil. We do not have to fear whatever may come because God is our refuge and strength! “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” Psalm 46:1-2.
