There is going to be plenty of times in your life when God tells you to do something that seems impossible..
But He doesn’t want you to understand everything – He expects your unshakable faith based on the very character of God..!
When God tells us to do something, we can instantly come up with ten good reasons why God’s way won’t work. We focus on the limitations as we see them instead of seeing God’s power as limitless..
God isn’t limited by our limitations. They are merely opportunities for His power..
Our job is not to see the solution to our struggles, but to obey God and trust Him for the solution..
Immediate success tempts us to want to take the credit. That way, we see ourselves as the cause and God as the effect. Our limitations best convince us that success is of God—not of us..
If God asks impossible things of us, He plans to do the impossible for us. And the impossible can only be accomplished by faith..
We are called to do the impossible thing God is calling us to do with hope and confidence that all things work for good to those that love God. (Romans 8:28)
Most often we have already determined ahead of time that all hope is lost. No good can come from this, we think..
But there is a better way. And Abraham models it for us..
Perhaps no one was tested more deeply and profoundly than Abraham when he was asked to sacrifice his one and only son..
Abraham had been told that all nations would be blessed through his offspring—blessings that included the coming of the promised Messiah. And Isaac was the key to all of these promises..
And he had every reason to despair with God’s request but he does not take this path..
Instead, he does something radical..
He believes..
Abraham really believed and was confident that somehow, someway God would keep His promises regarding Isaac even if He had to raise him up from the dead. (Hebrews 11:19)
In other words Abraham didn’t just obey God when he was asked to do the impossible. He obeyed with hopefulness. He obeyed with a godly optimism..
And that is the only way we can obey God in the midst of impossible and unthinkable trials. And it is the only way we can obey God over the long term..
Then everyone will know that You have won my victory, and they will all say to the Lord, “You have finished it!” (Psalm 109:27)
“And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who passionately seek Him.…” (Hebrews 11:6)

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of
