Day 23

Greed is the inordinate (excessive), insatiable (uncontrollable) desire to accumulate money, power, and security to such as a degree that it supersedes moral integrity, and even spiritual integrity..
– Greed is not from God.
For all that the world can offer us—the gratification of our flesh, the allurement of the things of the world, and the obsession with status and importance —none of these things come from the Father but from the world. (1 John 2:16)
– Greed is at odds with godliness.
Each of you must make up your own mind about how much to give. But don’t feel sorry that you must give and don’t feel you are forced to give. God loves people who love to give. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
– Greed promises satisfaction, but never satisfied.
Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! (Ecclesiastes 5:10)
– Greed prevents us from resting in God’s faithfulness.
Don’t be obsessed with money but live content with what you have, for you always have God’s presence. For hasn’t He promised you, “I will never leave you, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!” (Hebrews 13:5)
“For the love of money [that is, the greedy desire for it and the willingness to gain it unethically] is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves [through and through] with many sorrows.”……(1 Timothy 6:10)
