Day 25

GOD opposes the prideful and arrogant because they think they can do “life” all by themselves..!
They approach life with the mindset, that it’s up to them to manipulate things into being, disregarding the fact that they have been doing “life” without results, until GOD steps in..!!
Pride is often driven by poor self-worth and shame. We feel so badly about ourselves that we compensate by feeling superior. We look for others’ flaws as a way to conceal our own. We relish criticizing others as a defense against recognizing our own shortcomings..
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom..
Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the LORD will be exalted on that day of judgment..
How do you remove pride?
– Admit you cannot do on your own. You need the Holy Spirit to help you.
– Give God the credit.
– Recognize God’s gifts.
– Depend on God’s providence.
– Repent of your sin.
– Do not compare yourself with anyone else.
– Do not compete against anyone.
– Acknowledge the strength of others.
– Encourage those who are weaker than you.
– Admit your mistakes.
– Do not envy others.
– Be willing to apologize if you have done wrong.
– Do not let appreciation get into your head.
“When pride comes [boiling up with an arrogant attitude of self-importance], then come dishonor and shame, But with the humble [the teachable who have been chiseled by trial and who have learned to walk humbly with God] there is wisdom and soundness of mind….”(Proverbs 11:2)
